About Us
Kelly Wenger M.S., CCC-SLP, CMT®
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from Azusa Pacific University and later completed post-baccalaureate studies in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Arizona State University. I went on to receive my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Louisiana Monroe.

My career began in the medical setting before transitioning into public education, where I served for 10 years. During that time, I specialized in supporting students with significant disabilities and those who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

Becoming a first-time mom in November 2020 changed the trajectory of my career—as motherhood often does. During my breastfeeding journey, I connected with local IBCLCs and asked which pediatric feeding therapist they referred to when challenges extended beyond their scope. To my surprise, the answer was no one. The nearest specialists were hours away in Sacramento, San Francisco, or Fresno. That wasn’t good enough for me—or for the families in our community.

Although my own breastfeeding experience was smooth, I knew that many families needed better access to support. That realization sparked a new passion. I pursued extensive continuing education in pediatric feeding and swallowing and eventually became Feed the Peds® trained, a milestone that confirmed I was exactly where I was meant to be.

Today, the doors of Nurture Well are open, and I am honored to serve the families of California’s Central Valley as a pediatric feeding therapist. Along the way, I discovered the profound connection between feeding and orofacial function, which led me to continue my training in Myofunctional Therapy. I earned my Certified Myofunctional Therapist (CMT®) credential in April 2024.

My mission is simple: to provide knowledgeable, compassionate, and accessible care so families feel supported from the very first bite.

Courtney Carter M.S., CCC-SLP
I am a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist with a rich background in both education and clinical practice. My career began in the elementary classroom, where I nurtured young learners and gained a deep appreciation for child development. I later earned my Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA, followed by a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology.

I spent over 12 years in the public school system, having the privilege of supporting students with a wide range of communication needs. My experience also extends to early intervention and acute care, which has allowed me to work closely with families during some of the most important developmental years. I am especially passionate about speech sound disorders and early intervention, and I continue to advance my specialization in Childhood Apraxia of Speech. I became Level II trained in DTTC in April 2025 to further support children with motor speech disorders through evidence-based practice.

In March 2024, I embarked on an exciting new chapter by partnering with my close friend and former colleague, Kelly, to open Nurture Well. Together, we are committed to providing specialized, neurodiversity-affirming, and sensory-friendly speech-language therapy to our community. Our approach is rooted in play, connection, and evidence-based practice, ensuring that therapy is both meaningful and effective.

When I’m not working, I’m continually learning, growing, and finding new ways to advocate for the children and families I serve. I’m grateful to be part of this journey and excited to continue making a positive impact in the Central Valley.
